Aamir Khan’s Son Junaid Khan’s Debut Movie Maharaja To Be The First Film To Resume Shooting Post Lockdown
Junaid Khan’s Maharaja will resume shooting with merely 25 junior artists, the lead cast and a few crew members after getting all of them vaccinated as per new government guidelines.
Aamir Khan‘s son Junaid Khan was all set to follow in his father’s footsteps and get into acting. Just as the aspiring actor was gearing up for the shoot of his debut film, the ongoing pandemic and the lockdown that came with it, put a halt on everything. Now with the Maharashtra government slowly easing down on restrictions with their 5-level unlock plans for the state, Junaid Khan’s ‘Maharaja’ might resume shooting.
The film fraternity has been eagerly waiting for the lockdown restrictions to ease out in Maharashtra, especially Mumbai so that they can finally resume shooting. In their latest statement, the Maharashtra government announced a step by step unlock plan, classifying various cities into level 1, level 2 and more. Mumbai that falls under level 3 will see a bunch of restrictions being eased including the resumption of film shooting.
Production house YRF had slated many films to be released in the current year, although many of the projects under the banner are currently on hold. This includes films like Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathan’, Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger 3’ and others. But the film that YRF decided to start with is Junaid Khan’s debut film ‘Maharaja’.
As the Maharashtra government has only allowed shootings to take place in a small bubble, the production house has gotten all of the crew vaccinated and has even done RT PCR tests for the same. According to sources, the makers have planned to work with only 25 junior artists along with the main cast and few key members. Maharaja will be directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and will feature Junaid essaying the role of a journalist alongside, Shalini Pandey, Sharvari Wagh and Jaideep Ahlawat in lead roles.
