6.4 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Assam Causing Massive Damages To Roads & Buildings
In Assam, cracks seem to have appeared on the roads due to the tremors whereas buildings have tilted because of the impact, read on.
A massive earthquake of magnitude 6.4 on the Richter scale hit several parts of Assam on Wednesday morning. As per the reports cracks have appeared on the road of Sonitpur district of Assam. Meanwhile, in the city of Nagaon, a tall building tilted against its adjacent building due to the impact of the earthquake. The aftermath of the earthquake is quite evident from the video. Deeps cracks have formed on the roads of Sonitpur due to the tremors. Whereas in Nagaon, a three-storey building can be seen leaning on the adjacent building. A lot of people can be seen taking photos and videos of the aftermath.

As per a leading daily, no casualties have been reported so far. However, India’s disaster management officials are still assessing the destruction and casualties that occurred due to the earthquake. Apart from cracks and tilted buildings, several cars were also damaged because of the jolts.
In the video, people can be seen taking to the streets in a panic. Due to the large masses of people gathered on the roads, covid-19 regulations are seemingly not being followed.
