Kurukshetra, written by J.K Bharavi and directed by Naganna, is an epic based on a poem Gadhayuguddha by Ranna. The story revolves around the Mahabarata and is centered around Duryodhana, the Kaurava king.  The film comprises an ensemble cast that includes Darshan, Ambaressh, V. Ravichandran, Sneha, Sonu Sood, Nikhil Kumar and so on. Released on 9 August 2019, the film was released across more than 1000 screens, making it the widest release in the Kannada industry. The movie won rave reviews from critics and audiences alike for its larger-than-life canvas, diverting storyline and powerpacked performances.  This weekend, you can watch it on ZEE5.

1. It’s an epic mythology:

The most important reason is that the story is based on the epic mythology Mahabarata. Indians are very fond of mythologies, be it Ramayana or Mahabarata. Every film based on mythology always has an interesting interpretation and a different way of looking at it that Indians never get tired of! This one, too, seems very interesting.

2. Darshan as Duryodhana:

Darshan, as versatile as he is, has never been seen playing the role of a God! This one’s unique also because the story will also be told from Duryodhana’s perspective which is new angle to the film. It will be interesting to see him play the role of Duryodhana.

The film brings together a star cast that has never been seen before! It is interesting to see charascters like Sonu Sood, who is known for his villain roles and chiseled body to play a role in this epic mythology. The star cast comprises of actors like Ambarish as Bhishma, Ravichandran as Krishna, Nikhil Gowda as Abhimanyu, Sneha as Draupadi, Arjun Sarja as Karna, and so on.
