No wonder then that scuba diving is fast becoming popular both with thrill-seeking millennials as well as our celebs. Guess who’s the latest to get enthralled by this adventure sport? It’s none other than Nenu Local star Nani.

The superstar recently went scuba diving and posted a photo on his Instagram, with the caption: ‘Pisces’. Incidentally, the actor, whose birthday is on February 24, is a Piscean himself. Seen with an oxygen tank and in scuba gear, the Jersey actor seems to be immensely enjoying himself.

2. Netrani Island, Karnataka

Why do we need to travel far and wide when coastal Karnataka, which is dotted with breathtakingly beautiful beaches, is excellent for scuba diving? The clear tropical waters of the heart-shaped Netrani Island in Murudeshwar make it a great place to spot whales, turtles, sting rays, stone fish and more.

3. Pondicherry

Though more known for its beautiful beaches, French architecture and surfing, Pondicherry is fast becoming one of the cherished scuba diving spots of India. Here, you can swim with a wide variety of fishes, eels, manta rays, sea snakes and more. You can dive at underwater sites with depths ranging from 12m to 50m.

4. Tarkarli, Maharashtra

Clean beaches, clear waters and a generally calm sea – these are what make Tarkarli in Maharashtra an ideal place for scuba diving. Hop on a boat in Tarkarli or Devbagh and go deeper into the sea to swim with innumerable fishes. Or you can go underwater near the Sindhudurg Fort and watch it in all its magnificence.

5. Lakshadweep Islands

Agreed, it’s not very well connected and takes a while to reach from most places. But this group of 36 islands in the Arabian Sea is heaven for those who love relaxing amidst pristine beaches, clear waters, coral reefs and a great variety of marine animals. Both Agatti and Bangaram Islands have places where you can dive deep and explore life under the water.
