Last week WhatsApp added several new features that make it easier for users to delete unnecessary media and other files
Last week, social media app, WhatsApp has added several new features in its every updated version. From redesigning the storage management tool to a recent update of the payment method, the Facebook-owned company is making the app more user friendly. The improved version of the app makes it easier for users to delete unnecessary media and other files. In case you missed any one of these WhatsApp features, you can have a look at them below.
WhatsApp storage management tool
The improved version of the storage management tool is very useful. With the updated version, the users can view all the forwarded photos, videos, files in this section and delete them once for all. The app also lets you separately delete all the media of a particular chat. Previously, the older version only showed how much storage space a chat is using along with the “Free up” option tab. Moreover, in order to check what all photos or videos a particular chat has, users earlier had to visit the individual’s profile or group.
However, this is not the case with the updated version. The latest version of the storage management tool allows you to check all the media. It also gives an option to decide whether you want to remove or keep them. Users can find the storage management tool in Settings > Storage and data > Manage storage.
An update on WhatsApp disappearing messages
WhatsApp has recently introduced the disappearing messages feature. In this, the users are allowed to enable this feature for every chat window and the messages will disappear after seven days. Also, if the user’s back up option is turned on, all the disappearing can be stored However, the disappearing chat option will not accessible after the user restores messages. One can enable the feature by visiting the profile of the individual or the group.
Report a contact feature
The company has also reworked on this feature. With this, users can report both regular and business WhatsApp accounts. The users will soon be asked to submit evidence. The app will ask users to share recent chat messages before it acts against any account. Hence, if the user reports an account, one will get a message saying ‘Most recent messages from this user will be forwarded to WhatsApp.’ Currently, users get the option to report, block or add the person to contacts. For the unversed, WhatsApp is yet to make this feature live to all the users. If you are a beta tester and on the 184.108.40.206 Android version, then one can see the feature.
As millions of users are currently on WhatsApp, and now one can send or receive money via the messaging app. The app has already reached the device as the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has finally given a green signal for it. However, the payment service is currently released to 20 million WhatsApp users. After updating the app, users can find WhatsApp payments feature once you visit a chat of the person and go to attachment icon in it.
