300 Million Indians to get the Coronavirus Vaccine in next 7 months
Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan announced on Saturday that India’s experts are working on the development of Covid-19 vaccine and India will have the capacity to vaccinate about 300 million people soon.
Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has announced on Saturday that country’s scientists and health experts have worked on the development of an indigenous vaccine, and in the upcoming six to seven months, India will have the capacity to inoculate about 30 crore people. In a meeting with other ministers, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan also shared that the recovery rate in India is the highest as compared to other countries and that more than 16 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far in the entire country.
Reportedly, a member of the Niti Aayog committee Dr. V.K Pal also shared in the meeting that 12 nations have asked for India’s help so far in terms of the vaccine. The total number of Coronavirus cases in India have now tallied up to more than 1 crore.
While the number of cases in India have increased, a 59-year-old COVID-19 patient from Gujarat made a miraculous recovery after spending 113 days in a hospital. As per the reports, 113 days is the longest time a COVID-19 patient has spent in a hospital. Out of 113 days, he was on a ventilator for 90 days. Chief Minister Nitin Patel came to visit him in the hospital after he made full recovery.
As India is prepping for the COVID-19 vaccine, Serum Institute of India’s CEO Adar Poonawalla has expressed his concerns over this claiming that the companies (who are involved with the vaccine) might face legal threats due to the possible side effects and has urged the government to take necessary steps for preventing the same.
As for the side effects, a nurse in America named Tiffany Dover reportedly passed out after getting a Pfizer BioNtech vaccine shot but she was okay later and told the local authorities that she has a condition where she often faints when she is in a lot of pain. Many of those who received Pfizer’s shots are reported to have suffered from allergies. America has the maximum number of COVID-19 cases in the world and the pandemic has killed more than 3.21 lakh people.
