3 Reasons Why Hyderabad Lost To Delhi In Qualifier 2 Of IPL 2020

In the second qualifiers of IPL 2020, Delhi Captains defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad with 17 runs. Here are the reasons why SRH lost to DC.

The Second Qualifier took place yesterday on November 8 at the Abu Dhabi cricket stadium. The qualifier 2 took place between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals. In SRH vs DC, Hyderabad was defeated by Delhi with 17 runs. Here’s why SRH lost to DC.

Reason #1: Shikhar Dhawan’s knock made a huge difference

The Delhi Captains won the toss and decided to bat first. Shikhar Dhawan and Marcus Stoinis started the inning and stitched a good partnership. It was because of Shikhar Dhawan that Delhi capitals could score a huge target of 190 runs for Hyderabad to score. He managed to score 78 runs out of only 50 runs and completed his half-century. He hit 8 boundaries out if which there were 6 fours and 2 sixes. He also maintained a strike rate of 156.

Reason #2 Apart from Kane Williamson, no top ordered batsman scored well 

In the second qualifier on IPL 2020, no batsman in Sunrisers Hyderabad performed well apart from Kane Williamson. David Warner who opened the inning with Priyam Garg knocked out by Rabada in the first over itself with 2 runs in his basket. Priyam Garg also managed to survive till the 4th over with only 17 runs. Two balls later, Marcus knocked out Manish Pandey which was the biggest wicket for Delhi Captains. It was Kane who scored 67 runs off 45 balls with a strike rate of 148.98 and hit 5 fours and 4 sixes which bought the team closer to the target.

Reason #3 Marcus Stoinis’ all-round performance made the game difficult for SRH

Marcus Stoinis not only bagged a good amount of runs but also took enough wickets to make it a tough target for Hyderabad. While partnering with Shikhar Dhawan, he played really well and scored 38 runs off 27 balls. He bowled three overs in which he knocked three wickets of SRH players within the span of 26 runs. He was awarded as the man of the match.

Apart from these three players, it was Rabada who showed his outstanding bowling skills and took away 4 wickets within 29 runs. Sunrisers Hyderabad has been eliminated from the IPL 2020. Delhi Captains are now leading on the IPL 2020 scorecard along with Mumbai Indians. The team will play the IPL 2020 finals against Mumbai Indians tomorrow on November 10.
