United Airlines which is headquartered in America is preparing for the biggest pilot layoff. The Airlines announced on Thursday, August 28 that it will cut 2,850 pilot jobs or about 21 per cent of the total workforce. The aviation industry has been severely affected due to the ongoing novel Coronavirus pandemic and this the reason United Airlines has taken such a step.
