Rohit Shetty Gets Felicitated By The Federation Of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) For Sooryavanshi -See Post

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), which represents 31 crafts of workers, honours Rohit Shetty and celebrate the success of his latest film Sooryavanshi, which stars Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, and features special cameos by Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh. On Friday, a special event will be staged at a prominent Mumbai cinema.

The success of Sooryavanshi has revived optimism in our workers, who are glad that the public is back in the theatres and grateful to Rohit Shetty, who is the real hero for them, according to FWICE President BN Tiwari.
The event, according to Tiwari, is being held to honour Rohit Shetty and his crew for their unwavering support for the film industry. During the lockdown, he was constantly there for the workers, offering assistance to everyone of them.

Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar, had a very successful debut week at the box office, grossing Rs 120.36 crores*. There was a lot of speculation before the film’s debut as to whether or not this would be the film’s lifetime number. The concern wasn’t with the content; rather, it was with the aim. Will the audience be willing to take a risk? Will the movie be shown in theatres? Will the message that the film is only available in theatres and not on digital platforms truly get out? Despite all odds, the film has done a phenomenal amount of business, comparable to that of pre-pandemic days.

No wonder the film’s current total of more than Rs 120 crores is worth its weight in gold, since if the situation had been completely regular up until Diwali 2019, the picture might easily have had a first week gross of more than Rs 150 crores, which would have been simply spectacular.

Nonetheless, with no new releases this week, the Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi is expected to enjoy another successful week. The Rohit Shetty-directed film has laid the groundwork, and the film’s consistency during its first week suggests that the second weekend will be just as fruitful.
