Maari 23 May 2023 Written Update: Durga is Kidnapped

In the previous episode of Maari, Muthupechi refuses to listen to Shanmugham as he tries to stop her from performing the special ritual. She is aware that Shanmugham is worried about Sakkarai attacking her but tells Sakkarai that by doing this special ritual she will not only help the villagers but also help her unite with her estranged sister and her family. She agrees to risk her life to reopen the temple.

Maari and Surya worry about Muthupechi’s safety and try hard to think of a plan to protect Muthupechi. As they discuss it, Sakkarai’s house help approaches them and tells them about Sakkarai hiring a goon to kill Muthupechi. The servant tells Surya about Munnuswamy and tells him his address. Maari thanks the servant for giving them valuable information and hurries to meet Munnuswamy. Durga gets impatient to meet Maari and throws tantrums. She decides to go to Muthupechi’s house to meet Maari. Surya and Maari are surprised when Munnuswamy’s wife recognizes them.  Pazhniamma is shocked when the duo tells her about Munnuswamy trying to kill Muthupechi and scolds her husband for trying to kill Muthupechi. Munnuswamy realises his folly and decides to return the money, but Surya stops him and shares a plan with him. Durga spots Sankarapandi, Sreeja, and Jasmine and follows them. Sakkarai hires Kumar when Munnuswamy changes his mind. Durga is shocked when Jasmine shares her conspiracy to kill Muthupechi and frame Maari. Jasmine instructs Kumar to abduct Durga when she threatens of exposing them.

In the next episode of Maari, Durga realises that her mother Rasathi is Muthupechi’s sister when she sees her photo in Muthupechi’s hand. Muthupechi asks Shanmugham to speed up the process to look for Rasathi. Kumar abducts Durga and brings her to Sakkarai’s house. As instructed, Kumar ties up Durga in the warehouse. When Maari and Surya reach home, Hasini enquires about Durga and is shocked on learning that Durga did not meet them. Surya calls Muthupechi to enquire about Durga and is disappointed to learn that Durga did not reach there. Surya steps out of the house in search of Durga but fails to find her. Maari secretly meets Muthupechi and tells her about Durga. Soon after, Maari tries to stop Muthupechi from performing the special ritual and shares her fear. Muthupechi realises Maari’s care for her and explains the situation to her. Thereafter, Muthupechi tells her belief that her estranged sister will unite after this special ritual. Muthupechi reassures Maari that as long as her love is with her no harm will come to her. While Surya looks for Durga, he finds her golden anklets gifted by Muthupechi and decides to lodge a missing complaint. Surya meets the inspector and tells him that Durga is missing and shows him the anklet.

Shanmugham is shocked when Surya tells him that Durga is missing. During his conversation with Shanmugham, Surya realises that Rasathi is Muthupechi’s sister. Maari and the family panic when Surya fails to find Durga.
