Khari Biscuit

The movie revolves around two poor kids who live on the streets. The elder is called Biscuit and the younger sibling, a blind girl, is called Khari. At a young age, Biscuit was told to treat his sister like a princess and protect her heart and wishes at all costs and the boy grows to do just that. They both love Sachin Tendulkar and Khari tells his brother that she really wants to see the World Cup! Now, these children have no money, but Biscuit decides to leave no stone unturned to fulfil his sister’s wish. Starring Siddharth Chandekar and Sonali Kulkarni, GulabJaam follows the journey of Aditya Naik, who returns from London to Maharashtra because he wants to open a restaurant in India. He goes on a quest to learn cooking authentic Marathi food and crosses paths with Radha. Aditya convinces this fussy, hard-on-the-exterior woman to teach him everything she can because he falls in love with her food. Gulabjaam is a tale of food and love and leaves you warm inside. A must watch if you want to watch a light movie that is also sensible and pleasant.

This is another story of a brother-sister duo, set in a different context. Balu and Chaani are in school. Their mother is sick and could be dying. They hear that souls of humans reside in fishes so they innocently set out to save every fish they see, hoping that one of them would have their mother’s soul. The plot takes place at the time of drought in Maharashtra when the water is scarce and time is hard for everyone. Will they succeed?

This action drama is indeed an enjoyable watch. Riteish Deshmukh made his debut in the Marathi film industry in 2014 with this film. There are amazing actors like Tanvi Azmi, Radhika Apte and Sharad Kelkar in the film. This story has killings, look-alikes, and a lot of great punchlines and action. For all masala and action movie lovers, this one is a must!
