Uttarakhand: Mountain Landslide Triggered By Heavy Rain Closes NH-07
A heavy mountain landslide near Peepalkoti closed National Highway 07 after Uttarakhand faced heavy rains for the past one week.
The mood of changing weather is creating havoc on the mountains as well. The country is currently surrounded by all-round disasters. In Chamoli, Uttarakhand, cases of natural disasters have also started coming up during the monsoon. According to sources, there has been a huge landslide near Peepalkoti in Chamoli. Due to this, the National Highway (NH)-07 has been closed. For the last one week, Uttarakhand has been lashed with rains. Due to heavy downpours, there have been reports of cloudbursts, landslides, and house or building collapse. In Chamoli, people were also seen to be careless during the fall of the mountain.
In the Twitter videos that have gone viral, people are making videos by risking their lives during a situation of crisis in a natural disaster in Uttarakhand. Late on Monday night (July 20), a lot of damage was caused in Hari Pauri due to lightning. India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued an alert regarding rainfall in Uttarakhand. According to the IMD, a red alert has been issued in the state from July 21 to 23, with a warning of heavy rain.
