When both Sonam and Deepika wear similar ensembles and give it their seal of approval, you know it’s a major deal
Every celebrity wants to be the first to wear a new outfit and make a statement. Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja are two of the trendiest stars in the industry today. By representing India at international red carpet events such as the Cannes Film Festival and the Met Gala, the two actors have put India on the fashion map. When both Sonam and Deepika wear similar ensembles and give it their seal of approval, you know it’s a major deal.
Back in 2015, the actress, who adores her anarkalis, wore an ivory ensemble by ace designer team Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla for the Diwali promotions of Tamasha. Deepika’s outfit was styled by Shaleena Nathani and featured a keyhole neckline and a fit and flare kurta with lace edging. The translucent sleeves have a lacework hem as well. Over the chikankari dress, the actress wore a matching white dupatta with gota work. The diva’s ensemble was completed with oxidized jhumkas with blue beads, a matching bracelet, and adorned juttis. Her long hair was pulled to one side and groomed in a poker-straight way. The look was completed with filled-in brows, defined eyes, neutral-toned lips, and black manicured nails.
The diva, who can style any outfit, chose an ivory anarkali by her go-to designer pair Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla for Diwali celebrations in 2021. Sonam wore an anarkali with a keyhole cutout at the neck and a fit-and-flare silhouette, which is synonymous with anarkalis. Deepika’s outfit had more chikankari work than the actress’s, and she wore it with a matching extravagant skirt underneath. Sonam finished her outfit with a matching white dupatta draped over her anarkali.
Sonam’s blended smokey eyes, glossy, neutral tone lips, and sculpted cheekbones were all visible thanks to her hair pulled back into a neat bun. Her spectacular ensemble was completed with gold and emerald jewelry.
