American actress and filmmaker Kristen Stewart has been buzzing in the news lately regarding her role in ‘Spencer’. She reveals how she was very excited about the offer to play the role of Princess Diana in this upcoming movie.
Having been the world’s highest-paid actress back in 2012, she had been closely working on several movies over the years that brought her name and fame in the romance genre of movies. This time, however, Kristen will perform on the life and times of the stylish British icon.
Kristen Stewart spoke during a conversation broadcast as a part of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). She mentioned that she was excited to work with director Pablo Larrain in the “lyrical approach” to the story of Princess Diana.
According to Kristen, Pablo called her on the phone and proposed the idea of her playing Diana in ‘Spencer’. Before he sent her the script, she answered, “Yes, Absolutely.”
“My favourite kinds of movies include explorations and cultivating controlled chaos. That’s how you make discoveries that are worth photographing”, Kristen said while mentioning that there is no “perfect way” to play the role of Princess Diana.
Director Pablo Larrain in collaboration with writer Steven Knight is creating ‘Spencer’ in all its glory with real-life references to the days when Princess Diana divorces Prince Charles.
Speaking about the role of Diana as a mother, Kristen Stewart said in the broadcast, “I think that Princess Diana’s strength, power and her feral, unstoppable force of nature really comes out when she was with her kids. Although she wasn’t good at protecting herself, she was good at protecting them.”
“If you don’t get that right, you don’t get her right”, she added. ‘Spencer’ is all set for release on the big screens on November 5, 2021.
