Himachal CM Defends Providing Security To Kangana Ranaut
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur says that Kangana Ranaut is the daughter of the state and a celebrity. It is our duty to give her security.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has defended state government’s decision to provide security to actress Kangana Ranaut in Manali. When asked about the need to provide security to Ranaut, CM Thakur said, “Kangana is from Himachal Pradesh and is the daughter of Himachal Pradesh and a celebrity too. It’s our moral duty to provide her security when she feels unsafe, when her family feels she is not safe. Her father has also given in writing that she is not safe. We also did a threat perception and found that she needs protection. Therefore, we have decided to provide her security at her residence in Manali.”
A police team was deployed outside Kangana Ranaut’s residence in Manali on Monday (September 7), after the Centre approved Y security for the actor. A team of health officials had also gone to her home to test Ranaut and her sister for COVID-19. Taking to Twitter earlier, the actress thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah for providing security to her. CM Thakur said, “I have informed my DGP to assess the threat and take appropriate action. A police team will be deployed with her in Manali today.”
