IPL 2020: MS Dhoni-Led CSK To Reach UAE In Second Week Of August
Chennai Super Kings will become the first team to kick off preparations for IPL 2020 as they will reach UAE a week before everyone else
The increasing cases of COVID-19 patients and the number of restrictions in the country forced the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to shift the Indian Premier League (IPL) to United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the second time. In 2014, the board was forced to stage first 20 matches of the league in UAE due to General Elections in India. IPL 2020 will mark the comeback of Indian players to competitive cricket after six months. MS Dhoni will also be seen on the field after a long time as the former Indian captain has been away from the game since the 2019 World Cup.
Before the start of the league, the teams will fly to UAE in August. As per a report, Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be the first side that will be seen in action. The report suggests that CSK players will reach UAE in the second week of August while other teams are planning to reach UAE in the third week. Often regarded as the Daddy’s army, CSK does have a number of players who are above 30 and they will surely need more time to be match-fit if compared to other teams.
