Delhi Capitals started off on a good note before the match when they secured the toss and chose to test their bowling line up first against Mumbai Indians. Check out the video below to know more details –
Delhi Capitals’ bowling line up was kicked off by Daniel Sams and the first over itself started off with a number of boundaries for Mumbai Indians in the batting line up. By the end of the first over itself, Mumbai had secured 15 runs. In the second over, however, Rohit Sharma was sent back to the pavilion by Capitals and all looked hopeful. But the hope was shortlived as the MI team had secured over 70 runs at the end of just 6.5 overs. During the second leg of the innings, Hardik Pandya had gotten comfortable on the pitch and ended up scoring back to back sixes in the 18th over. Mumbai Indians had already secured a hard chase for Delhi to conquer but they did not stop there. At the end of the 20th over, Mumbai had challenged Delhi with the difficult task of chasing the target of 201.

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, did not start off on a good note in the second innings. The team lost its first wicket in the first over itself followed by a second wicket in the same over. By the end of 2 overs, DC had also lost three wickets, which did not hint towards a victory, but things were still on the hopeful side. All hope was lost when the team ended up losing the fifth wicket in the seventh over with only 41 runs in-hand. The team ended its second innings on a sombre note by managing to make only 143 runs by the end of the 20 overs.
