India Reports More Than Two Lakh Cases Of Coronavirus In The Last 24 Hours

According to Union Health Ministry, India has reported more than 2 lakh new cases in the last 24 hours.

India has reported a massive number of new cases in the last 24 hours. It has recorded more than two lakh new cases and the total number of active cases in the country has passed 14 lakhs till Thursday. There have been more than 1000 deaths according to the Union Health Ministry.

The capital of India Delhi has recorded more than 17,000 cases on Wednesday whereas Maharashtra has recorded more than 50,000 new cases in the last 24 hours. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced weekend lockdown in Delhi and it will be in effect till April 30. People who are going for vaccination of Covid 19 will be allowed to visit the clinic. The Chief Minister has also said that there is no shortage of bed in the hospitals in Delhi. There has been a huge footfall in railway stations and bus depots.

Previously many states like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Punjab imposed night curfew as a part of the Covid-19 restriction. Maharashtra has suspended all shootings of films, serials and ad films. Punjab has banned all gatherings and it has shut down all schools and colleges. Bihar has announced that shops and other commercial establishments will remain open only till 7 pm. India was improving well at the starting of the year and had a comparatively flattened curve when it came to Covid-19 cases but in March the cases started increasing and have been on the rise since then.
