DRDO Exhibits Futuristic Fighter Aircraft In Bengaluru On February 3

DRDO exhibited a high level of indigenous content in defence forces and displayed the models of its futuristic fighter aircraft, including the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft and LCA Mark 2.

In an attempt to make India Aatmanirbhar, DRDO exhibited a high level of indigenous content in defence forces. The DRDO displayed models of its futuristic fighter aircraft including the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft and LCA Mark 2 at Aero India 2021, which was held in Bengaluru. The Defence Research and Development Organisation also showcased India’s under-development fifth-generation fighter aircraft Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft at Aero India. As per DRDO, the aircraft would come with stealth features and all capabilities of a multiple fighter plane.

Themed around Atmanirbhar Bharat, more than 300 products, technologies and innovations in the outdoor, indoor, static and flying displayed during the show. Two of the major attractions of DRDOs participation in the event included the flying display of Airborne Early Warning & Control System, Light Combat Aircraft Tejas and LCA Navy. Working towards Atmanirbhar Bharat has taken up many police initiatives to work closely with all stakeholders of the ecosystem, according to DRDO. The models and aircraft were shown under various technology categories and thrust were on the digital display of data, to highlight product details.

One of the main highlights of the mega event was Nirbhay missile and P-16 Heavy Drop System. Among missiles, full-scale models of various Surface to Air Missiles like Astra, Long Range Surface to Air Missile, Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM), Air to Air Missile Astra, New Generation Anti- Radiation Missile (NGARM) and Smart Anti Airfield Weapon (SAAW) were also shown. Technology subsystems like RF Seeker, IIR Seeker, PINAKA Guidance Kit, Model of rail track rocket sled (RTRS) facility and exploder for naval warheads etc. were also on display.

In the area of electronics and communications, several mission and radar computers, laser warning sensors, AEW&CS data links, various SDR models, lightweight portable laser target designator, radars and antennae were displayed while Integrated life support system, emergency survival rations, NBC Suit Mk-5, personal decontamination kit and other life sciences products were also shown.
