Case Filed Against Kangana Ranaut For Alleged Remarks On RLSP Leader Upendra Kushwaha

A complaint has been filed by politicians in Bihar against Kangana Ranaut for her comments on RLSP leader Upendra Kushwaha.

On Friday, December 18, a complaint was filed against Kangana Ranaut by Shyam Bihari Singh. The actor was accused of tarnishing the image of Upendra Kushwaha who is a former Union Minister. The actress had made some derogatory comments on her Twitter handle on the photo taken at the recent Bihar elections. Read further to know the entire scenario in detail.

Complaint filed against Kangana Ranaut 

Kangana Ranaut is infamous for her involvement in many controversies lately. Recent news reports mention that the actor is accused of ruining the reputation of Upendra Kushwaha, a former Union Minister. The complaint was lodged before in a Patna court. The complaint was filed by Shyam Bihari Singh who is the legal cell head of the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party which is headed by Kushwaha.

On December 3, Kangana Ranaut had made a tweet with the caption “new star in tukde tukde gang”. She described the photograph clicked at the assembly elections in Bihar. She also made tags like jihadis, Urban Naxals, and Lutyen Liberals. She placed these tags on the head of the leaders in the photograph. The tag over Kushwaha’s head read Azaad Kashmir. The tweet went viral and received a huge response from Indian Twitter users. However, she was requested to take down her tweet.

In the complaint, Shyam Bihari Singh mentioned that Kushwaha had tried to inform Mumbai Police, Bihar Police, and Maharashtra DGP about her. But no actions were taken against Kangana. Kumar Shambhu Prasad, their lawyer said that the Kushwaha family requested him to file the complaint against her and thus as an advocate he did it. He added that he filed the complaint on the basis of 501-A, 502-A from the IPC act and 66-A from the IT act. He mentioned that the punishment for this is 2-3 months of jail time. However, no person is allowed to defame such respected leaders in Bihar and thus they should be punished, Kumar said.

The lawyer requested the court to take an action as soon as possible as the actor is often seen making such comments. Kangana Ranaut hasn’t yet responded to this controversy.
