Ali Fazal’s Performance In A Digital Show Bags Him The Best Actor Nomination In Busan Film Festival

Ali Fazal who’s popularly known for his Munna Bhaiya character in the epic two-part Mirzapur has managed his seat in the International Busan Film Festival among the most talented artists in the world.

Ali Fazal’s reaction was like Wow! This was totally unexpected. He is so humbled to receive this nomination and it means a lot to be recognized by ACA. A lot of great content was produced this year in Asia and to land, a nomination amongst such an impressive lineup of films and actors is an honour.

Helmed by Srijith Mukherji, the story is a modern interpretation of Satyajit Ray’s story ‘Bipin Chaudhary Ka Smriti Bhram.’ Ali essayed the role of a cut-throat corporate shark who never forgets anything and has a memory of a computer.

Apart from Ali Fazal, Nushrratt Bharuccha also bagged the nomination for her Best Actress for her character in ‘Ajeeb Daastaans’.

Ali Fazal started his career with three idiots starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in lead and post that there was no turning back for the actor. The actor has done films like Fukrey, Happy Bhaag Jaayegi, Always Kabhi Kabhi, Victoria and Abdul, Bang Baaja Baaraat and so much more.

His character in the digital show was also highly appreciated and once again Ali outdid himself. His upcoming projects include Death On The Nile and Prithviraj.

Death on the Nile is an upcoming mystery thriller film directed by Kenneth Branagh, with a screenplay by Michael Green, based on the 1937 novel of the same name by Agatha Christie. Produced by Branagh, Ridley Scott, Simon Kinberg, Judy Hofflund, Mark Gordon, and Kevin J. Walsh, the film is a follow-up to 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express and stars Branagh returning as Hercule Poirot, along with Tom Bateman, Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Dawn French, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders, and Letitia Wright. The film is the third screen adaptation of Christie’s novel, following the 1978 film and an episode of the television series Agatha Christie’s Poirot broadcast in 2004.
