In Aggabai Sunbai, Suzanne is hell-bent on usurping Soham’s wealth and for that, she is ready to take any step. She wishes to replace Shubhra as his wife, and snatch everything she has. Suzanne believes, if she marries Soham, all his wealth would be hers and she would lead a lavish life. In a bid to prove she is better than Shubhra, Suzanne is trying her best to impress Asawari. Suzanne thinks, if Asawari somehow believes she is better than Shubhra, then she may allow her to marry Soham and thus she’d become rich. However, unfortunately for her, Asawari may never fall for her wicked schemes. Here’s why!
1. Asawari loves Shubhra like her own daughter
Shubhra may be Asawari’s daughter-in-law, but she treats her like her own daughter. They share a very close bond and have known each other for over a decade. If Suzanne thinks she will be able to separate a daughter from her mother with a few evil tricks, then she is highly mistaken! There is nothing she can do to make Asawari hate Shubhra or think bad about her.
2. Asawari does not like Suzanne’s personality
Asawari may have started to like Suzanne as an employee, but she does not appreciate her as a person. She thinks Suzanne is obnoxious and would never accept her as a daughter-in-law. It is one thing to impress your boss and become a good employee, but it’s another thing to impress a mother as a daughter-in-law. Suzanne has no value for family or relationships then how can she impress Asawari?
3. Soham does not wish to marry Suzanne
Even if Suzanne somehow manages to tarnish Shubhra’s reputation and secure a place in Asawari’s heart, Soham still won’t marry her. He has made it abundantly clear that marriage between them is never going to happen and she will only remain his girlfriend for however long they’re together.
4. Asawari has a good character judgement
Apart from Suzanne’s masterful ploys, Shubhra-Asawari’s bond and Soham’s wish, let’s also consider how smart Asawari is. She is a businesswoman who has employed over 500 people. She obviously knows how to read people and has an intuitive mind. It’s really not easy to fool her and she’d be able to see past Suzanne’s pretence pretty quickly.
5. Suzanne is actually not better than Shubhra
Suzanne is actually not better than Shubhra, she’s just pretending that she is. For example, she added too much salt to the food cooked by Shubhra and presented it to Asawari. When Asawari could not eat it, Suzanne offered her different food. By doing all this, she made Shubhra look bad but this didn’t prove she is any good. What will happen when Suzanne is asked to cook? This is just one example but Suzanne won’t always be able to prove she’s better than others by ruining their efforts. She herself needs to have skills and qualities which she does not!
