#PreeRan and #AbhiGya are the nicknames that the fans have given to Zee TV’s most loved couples, Preeta (Shraddha Arya) and Karan (Dheeraj Dhoopar) from Kundali Bhagya and Abhi (Shabir Ahluwalia) and Pragya (Sriti Jha) from Kumkum Bhagya. While Kumkum Bhagya was the first show, its spin-off series, Kundali Bhagya also became a huge hit since its inception in 2017! Preeta and Pragya are actually biological sisters who were brought up separately. It is the same universe in which both these stories have been conceptualised and we have seen some crossover episodes as well! But these are not the only things the shows have in common! The lives of these lead pairs, #PreeRan and #AbhiGya are also quite similar if you look closely!

Their backgrounds are similar
Of course, Preeta and Pragya are sisters so they have the same kind of middle-class, sanskari upbringing and are both older sisters to Shristi (Anjum Fakih) and Bulbul (Mrinal Thakur). They are both wise and are also the best bahus in their sasurals. They are sweet and kind and can be quite spunky around their husbands as well!
Coming to the men, Karan and Abhi both come from big, rich families and are very loved in their houses. They are both stars and enjoy their celebrity status a lot. They’re always followed around by girls and were the hottest bachelors in town as well! While they loved their playboy days, they became extremely sweet and caring husbands post their weddings.

The slow-burn romance
Both these couples don’t fall in love right away and develop their feelings over a course of time. For Pragya and Abhi love strikes before marriage whereas, for Preeta and Karan, romance strikes after they tie the knot. Both these couples go through a lot before realising their love for their partners. Another interesting thing is that both these couples are strikingly different from each other. Pragya and Preeta are total opposites of Abhi and Karan and maybe that’s why they gel so well!
Their banter
Both these couples are often seen fighting and expressing themselves through playful banter in which they call each other names and make fun of each other. This has been going since the time they met and this is something that they continue to do even after being happily married! Fans love these two jodis especially for their banter and the humour that they bring along!

Their not-so-ideal marriages are always under attack!
Abhi marries Pragya because he wants to help his sister Aliya (Reyhna Pandit) and Karan marries Preeta because he wants to punish her for letting Rishabh (Manit Joura) marry Sherlyn (Ruhi Chaturvedi). In fact, Preeta and Karan have been married twice on the show and Pragya and Abhi too, have also gotten married at least thrice. This is the sign that these couples are meant to be together forever! Yet, there are outside forces who want to destroy them like Tanu (Leena Jumani) and Aliya in Kumkum Bhagya and Prithvi (Sanjay Gagnani)-Sherlyn and Mahira (Swati Kapoor) in Kundali Bhagya!

Other women who are currently causing big troubles!
In the current track, Preeta and Pragya’s respective arch-nemesis, Mahira and Tanu are causing major troubles for #PreeRan and #AbhiGya. Mahira has collaborated with an unknown person and is one of the reasons why Preeta has to go to jail and is hence away from Karan. Similarly, Tanu, in her attempt to punish Abhi has filed a fake rape case against him and has successfully put him behind bars, thereby separating him from Pragya.
