Purab Aur Pashchim Movie Plot

It's 1942 and India is still under British Rule. Among the many freedom fighters, Om and Harnam are the ones connected by a strong bond of friendship and share the same love for their nation. But unfortunately, Harnam succumbs to the reward offered by the British officials and betrays his friend Om. As a result, Om is killed and his wife Ganga and kid Bharat are left alone in the dark world. After India gained its independence in 1947, Bharat is a grown-up adult and goes to Britain for higher studies. Upon his arrival, he realises that most of the Indians living in London are not proud of their origin and they hate to link their name with Indians. While trying to change the perception of the Indians living in London, Bharat falls in love with Preeti. Preeti is not ready to shift to India but when Bharat convinces her to see what it feels like to live in India and what India actually means, she finally agrees. Will the epiphany about the truth of India transform Preeti or will she reject Bharat?
