Sudeeksha Death Case: Police Claims It Was Just A Road Accident
Sudeeksha Bhati died on August 10 in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh after two men on a bike eve-teased and harassed her.
Twenty-year-old Sudeeksha Bhati died in Uttar Pradesh‘s Bulandshahr when she was riding pillion on a motorcycle with yer younger brother who is a minor. While her family claims she was being chased by men who were harassing her, police have said that she died in a road accident. The daughter of a tea shop owner, Bhati was on a visit home from the US where she studied. The life of a promising scholar, one who beat all odds to achieve academic success, was snuffed out in minutes. All because she tried to escape harassment by some miscreants.
Bhati’s family alleged that it happened because two motorcycle-borne men were following her two-wheeler and harassing her. Police, however, maintains that she just died in a road accident. The case has generated national outrage with many slamming the deteriorating law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh for the death of the college student. Coming under pressure, UP Police has now set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the incident.
