Veer’s entry

Shaheer Sheikh makes an entry in the third episode of Paurashpur, and his character’s entry itself is one of the best scenes of the episode. In the second half of the third episode, a chariot being pulled by men arrives in Paurashpur, and Veer steps out from behind the blinds of the chariot car. His stern look and his stance, along with the background music that plays when he makes his way towards Boris’ chamber, gives him a boss-like moment.

When Veer steps into Boris’ chamber, Boris welcomes him with a smirk, and says, “Aao, vyapari. Safar kaisa tha?” To this, Veer replies with a line that gives us a hint about his big intentions: “Abhi bhi safar mein hoon, toh kaise bata doon, kaisa raha safar. Bina qurbaani ke safar pura nahi hoga.

The assassination

After Veer meets with Boris, we don’t see him for a long time, until the last episode. Near the climax, when Boris finds out that Meeravati killed Bhanu and proceeds to kill her, someone stabs Boris in the back. It is later revealed that it was Veer, who assassinated Boris. Boris was one of the most powerful people of Paurashpur, and the assassination made us realise that Veer is someone who is way more powerful.

The climax revelation

Throughout the show, we see a lot of masked entities, the naqabposh, in the kingdom of Paurashpur. While one was trying to save the new queen, the other one was responsible for rescuing the queens from the tyrannical king. Later in the show, we saw that Boris was the one rescuing the queens, but there was one more masked entity who was spearheading his own revolution – Veer.

The revelation about Veer being the prince of another kingdom, Nyarapur, was a big surprise of its own. The climax also proceeded to reveal that Veer was the lover and fiance of the first queen of Paurashpur, Nayantara, who King Bhadrapratap had forcibly abducted, married, and later killed. This had led Veer Singh to build a revolution to destroy Paurashpur.

What we look forward to

With the final revelation and killing of Boris, Veer Singh’s character gave rise to some speculations about what we could expect from Paurashpur season 2. The first thing is that Boris was killed while proceeding to kill Meeravati. This gives us a hint that Veer Singh’s plan to overthrow Paurashpur is not yet over, and he needs Meeravati for it.

Secondly, Boris was also very powerful, and someone who Meeravati trusted and considered an ally (and Meeravati does not know that Boris was going to kill her). Now that Veer killed Boris, his plans and schemes might face a retraction of Meeravati’s support. Veer Singh’s purpose has a strong foundation, Paurashpur 2 will definitely see him as an even more powerful character.
