The India vs England test series will be concluding soon. But ahead of this conclusion, England’s Cricket team captain Joe Root has created a new record. Cricketer Joe Root is now the first batsman in cricketing history to score a double century in his 100th test match. Find out more details about this story below.

India and England are among the finest cricket teams in the game’s history. Both the teams have many records in their name and give a tough competition to many other cricket teams. Now, both these teams are facing each other in a test series in Chennai. This four-day test series became the talk of the town since Day 1.

On the first day of this test series, England’s powerful batsman and the team’s captain Joe Root went on to score 218 runs. But unfortunately, on Day 2 of India vs England Test Series, Shahbaaz Nadeem got his wicket. The wicket was a huge win for the Indian team since Joe Root is in good form.

Before this 2021 test series, Joe Root’s biggest score against India was back in 2014. During the 2014 test series, Joe Root scored an impressive score of 154. But this 2021 test series is extra special for the England Batsman since he managed to score a double century on his 100th test match.

Root is now the first cricket player in history to score a double century on his 100th test match. Before the England cricket player, Pakistani Cricket team’s former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq scored a hefty number against India. On his 100th test match back in 2005, Inzamam score 184 runs against India.

Moving on, Joe Root’s performance has been consistent throughout this test series. Even on Day 3 of India vs England Test Series, scored more than 150 runs. Joe Root is now the second England captain after Don Bradman to achieve this feat. Before facing India in this test series, Joe Root also put an impressive score against Sri Lanka. During that test match, Root scored 228 and 186 against Sri Lanka.
