On the Occasion of Engineer’s Day that falls on September 15, here’s a toast to all the actors who left engineering to pursue their acting careers.

We have seen so many actors in the film industry who come from different backgrounds and places just to be a part of the tinsel town. Had life not blossomed on the stars, they would have perhaps been busy with engineering and machines at a swanky corporate office. But destiny had something else in store for these masterminds. Here are stars who ditched their engineering degree to be a part of B-town.

Kartik Aryan

Love Aaj Kal actor Kartik Aaryan has degrees and diplomas. The Gwalior-based actor, who was doing his engineering course in Mumbai and an acting course, hid that he was a part of Pyaar ka Punchnama from his parents. Not only was his performance lauded, especially his lengthy monologue, but he went on to feature in its sequel too, which proved to be his second successful film. He’s undoubtedly one of the upcoming promising actors of the industry.

R. Madhavan

The chocolate boy, who made his permanent place in our hearts with his romantic flick Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein opposite Dia Mirza, is one of the most talented souls in B-town. The three idiots actor is opposite of his popular character. He did his graduation in electronics and represented India as a cultural ambassador in Canada. He was also awarded Best NCC Cadet Maharashtra and trained with the British Army, the Royal Navy, and the Royal Air Force.

Kriti Sanon

Not many of us know that Kriti Sanon, the beauty who has done many big banner films, is an engineer by profession. She completed her B. Tech in Electronics and Communication from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Delhi, but later pursued acting and even went on to win the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for her film Heropanti.

Sushant Singh Rajput

Late Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who was last seen in Chicchore with Shraddha Kapoor, pursued Mechanical Engineering at a college in Delhi before he decided to follow his dreams and move to Mumbai. From being a bright engineering student and 7th rank holder at the All India Engineering Entrance Exams (AIEEE), Sushant Singh Rajput became the most loved small screen actor for his TV show. He is loved by his fans and still revered as one of the most intelligent actors in Bollywood.

Vicky Kaushal

Masaan actor Vicky Kaushal, who garnered immense appreciation for his debut performance in the award-winning film, is an Electronics and Telecommunications Engineer. Still, the first thing he wanted to do after completing his education was working as an assistant director. The actor revealed that he tore apart his job letter after appearing for an interview, as he knew that nobody would take his interview in the film industry.

It’s certain now that these actors might have been very educated and disciplined in their previously chosen careers but are now stealing everyone’s hearts with their skills on the silver screen. Here’s sending some good wishes to all the Engineers on Engineering day!
