Earthquake Of 4.3 Magnitude Hits Manipur’s Ukhrul District; No Injuries Or Casualties Reported
The severity of this earthquake was quite low and so the district didn’t face any major loss to life and property.
On Wednesday, October 7, Ukhrul district of Manipur experienced an earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter Scale. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at 3:32 am and had a depth of 10 kilometres. There were no reports of injuries or casualty. The earthquake also didn’t damage any property in the district. The severity of this earthquake was quite low and so the district didn’t face any major loss to life and property.
The state of Manipur has been earthquake-prone. Previously several disastrous earthquakes had hit the state where a huge loss of life and property was reported. The scientists and researchers are analysing and studying the recent earthquake to understand the trends of the tremor. Local sources claim that compared to the previous earthquakes that had hit the state this one was of very low intensity.
