Sachin Vaze Taken To Hospital After His Health Deteriorates In NIA Custody
The prime accused in the Ambani car scare case and Mansukh Hiren murder was rushed to JJ Hospital in south Mumbai last night after he complained of uneasiness and discharged later
Former Mumbai cop Sachin Vaze, currently in the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) custody in the Ambani bomb scare case was taken to JJ Hospital on Tuesday evening after he fell sick. He was discharged after his treatment.
Meanwhile, the recently suspended inspector filed a petition in the Mumbai High Court calling his arrest illegal and citing that he has been made a media scapegoat in this case. Earlier, a Thane sessions court had denied Vaze an interim bail stating that custodial interrogation was necessary as there was prima facie evidence of his involvement in the Antilia case and the subsequent murder of the explosives-laden Scorpio’s owner Mansukh Hiren.
The central agency is moving swiftly with its interrogation with a crime scene recreation expected outside Mukesh Ambani’s residence where the abandoned vehicle was found. The authorities had earlier accessed CCTV footage showing a man wearing a PPE kit passing the SUV on 25 February. It is suspected that the man could be Vaze himself.
In a related news, sources reveal that Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar expressed dissent over the Maharashtra government defending the former cop in the Monday meeting. After speaking with his party members, he also met Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, state party president Jayant Patil and Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.
