Thaman has a long list of chart-topping hits to his name. From Allu Arjun’s Buttobama in Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo to the title track of Aagadu, he has remained one of the most in-demand musicians. He made his Bollywood debut in Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Again, then went on to star in Simmba. Thaman is overjoyed that he was posthumously given the Padma Vibhushan on Monday, after 26 years of collaboration with late great singer SP Balasubramahmaniyan. Nobody celebrated Bala garu as Illayraja and A R Rahman Garu did. Others did as well, but he felt these two did it the best. He misses him terribly. He was overcome with emotion as he watched Charan take the award, and tears welled up in his eyes.
