Dilip Kumar Health Update: Actor Likely To Be Discharged By Thursday, Say Doctors

Recently, veteran actor Dilip Kumar was hospitalised for increasing breathing problems and his doctors diagnosed him with Bilateral Pleural effusion after many tests. The actor had been put on oxygen support for the same as well. His wife and actress Saira Banu is reported to be with him and also asked fans to send prayers his way. Dilip Kumar’s doctors have now updated his status and said that the actor is improving.

Dilip Kumar’s primary doctor Dr Nikhil Gokhale and cardiologist both have found that he has been doing much better now since he was admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on Sunday. The doctor mentioned that there was water that had filled up in Dilip Kumar’s pleura (a part of the lung) but it has decreased. He also added that oxygen saturation has increased in the actor’s body and he can be sent home in a few days time.

The team of doctors did a procedure on the 97-year-old actor early on June 9 and his official Twitter account has tweeted updates. In it, it is said that the actor might be discharged on Thursday:

The 97-year-old frequents hospitals often in the past few years as he has a number of ailments. Even last year in September he had been admitted to the hospital and was made to quarantine by his wife since she did not want to risk infection of Coronavirus.
