WWE Superstar Spectacle 2021 Was Organised To Celebrate Republic Day For Its Indian Viewers
WWE organised a Republic day special show on January 26 for its Indian viewers.
WWE has been entertaining its followers for quite a few years now. It aired an Indian special event honouring Indian Republic day. The World wrestling entertainment launched a two hour PPV titled as WWE Superstar Spectacle 2021. They showcased some Indian superstars who are likely to become popular at WWE. Take a look at how they celebrate the national event.
WWE launched an Indian special in honour of Republic Day
On January 26, 2021, India celebrated the Republic on a large scale keeping in mind the COVID-19 pandemic. In the USA, WWE launched a two-hour special episode dedicated to Indians called as the WWE Superstar spectacle. In inculcated some traditional elements to the show as the event was specially produced for its Indian Market. The event took place in Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida and fans could watch it virtually. The event had four additional matches which were arranged especially for 10 Indian wrestlers who are currently under the WWE developmental system.
The matches the fans witnessed had some unprecedented level of talent from India. These wrestlers are training to become superstars in the upcoming years from India. They announced the names of the wrestlers who will be participating in the matches on the day. The names include Drew McIntyre, AJ Styles, Jinder Mahal, Indus Sher, Charlotte Flair and Serena Sandhu. WWE Champions who witnessed the spectacle were Drew McIntyre, Rey Mysterio, Charlotte Flair, AJ Styles, Bayley, The New Day, Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, Natalya, Ricochet, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. These are some of the biggest names in the wrestling world.
The show kickstarted with NXT Champion Finn Balor competing with Guru Raaj in a non titled match. Balor won the match with a Coup de Grace. The next match was between AJ Styles and Jeet Rama. It looked like Jeet Rama would take him down but in the final few minutes, AJ Styles hit his forearm. WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair addressed the contest and wished everyone on Republic Day. He was interrupted by Jinder Mahal and Bollywood Boyz. In the end, Indus Sher and Drew McIntyre joined hands to wish the Indian fans.
