The writer of the series, Vikas Bahl had been off the grid since 2018 after multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct in the #MeToo movement. Following the accusations, his fellow directors, Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, with whom he ran the production house Phantom Films, disbanded the production house. Bahl is returning to the industry with Sunflower, as a writer and a co-director.

From the Instagram post about Sunflower, we also get a hint about how it will revolve around a housing society, where chaos ensues, leading to hilarious situations. Sunflower will be soon releasing on ZEE5.

Until then, watch another dark comedy series, Black Widows on ZEE5.
