Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi’s starrer Oh My God 2 comes to a halt after seven crew members have contracted Covid-19. The news comes after shooting has resumed after the second lockdown. Reportedly, Paresh Rawal had backed out of the film and Pankaj Tripathi was casted in place of him
We all know how the B-Town actors have started the shoot of their films. Considering the pandemic, the actors had started to resume shooting in their bio-bubble which avoided a congregation of people as the shoot would keep going on. However, the drama of the sequel Oh My God had begun. Now, on Wednesday, it has been reported by a leading daily that seven members of the crew have tested positive for Covid-19.
Following this, the Pankaj Tripathi And Yami Gautam’s starrer Oh My God 2 came to a halt. The shooting of the film has been completely stopped to contain the disease. What happened was that A unit member had tested positive after which he was immediately sent into home quarantine and other members underwent tests. After the tests came in negative, the shoot resumed. In a matter of two days, three people started to show symptoms. The round of tests was organized and the shoot was put on hold. At the time, six members tested positive.
Pankaj Tripathi, Yami Gautam, and director Amit Rai tested negative. The makers eventually decided to put the shoot on hold for everyone’s safety. Previously, the film had made headlines as the makers of the film had decided that they will not cast Paresh Rawal in the film as he was charging a hefty fee for the same.
Paresh Rawal had then offered a profit-sharing deal however, even that didn’t work out as there were multiple producers involved in the project. The makers tried to persuade Paresh but to no avail, the actor was rigid about his fee and decided to part ways as he strongly felt that he deserved more than what he was offered. Following this episode the makers decided to cast Pankaj Tripathi, makers are convinced that the Mimi actor will bring in the necessary flavours of the film.
The first installment of the film, Oh My God, was highly loved by fans and it is still counted to be a unique film. The sequel of the film is highly anticipated by fans. The film not only questions our many important concepts of the world but also, surprises and entertains us to another level with its witty words. Actor Akshay Kumar had starred in the first part of the film as well. Now, fans can’t wait to see Panjak Tripathi share screen with Akshay Kumar in the film.
