India VS Australia 3rd ODI Highlights: India Triumphs With 13-Run Victory

The Indian cricket team made their way to victory as they defeated Australia by 13 runs in the final ODI on Wednesday. However, the Australian team was the ultimate champion of the three-day series. In the 3rd ODI, India set a target of 303 runs. However, by the 49.3th the Aussies were all bowled out at 289 runs. Read on to know the statistics of the match.

The game was in favour of India from the very beginning. Team India captain Virat Kohli acquired the title of the fastest batsman with 12,000 ODI runs. He surpassed Sachin Tendulkar, becoming the second Indian to cross the 12k runs mark in the ODI. On the other hand, T Natarajan who made his ODI debut for India dismissed Australia’s Ashton Agar and Marnus Labuschagne in the sixth over. Consequently, Cameron Green made his ODI debut for Australia.
One of the contributors to the victory of India was Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja’s 150-run stand. Jadeja scored 66 runs off 50 balls while Hardik scored a 92 off 76 balls smashing India to victory. He also registered his highest score for India in the ODIs. On the other hand, Aaron Finch marked his fourth consecutive half-century against India.
India’s Shardul Thakur, T Natarajan and Jasprit Bumrah scalped three, two and two wickets respectively. There seemed to be light at the end of the tunnel for Australia with Glenn Maxwell’s performance. However, Jasprit ended that opportunity after he dismissed Maxwell on an individual score of 59 runs off 38 balls. Hardik Pandya earned the Man of the Match titled while Steve Smith bagged the Man of the series title.
Steve Smith has been making headlines lately after he scored his second century against India in the 2nd ODI. The Australian batsman had scored a similar century during the 1st ODI with a total of 104 runs off 64 balls. He stands at the second position preceded by former Australian cricketer Ricky pointing. He has now entered the elite list of batsmen with 5+ tons in an IND vs AUS match. Ponting scored six ODI centuries against India in 59 matches while Smith, on the other hand, has a record of 20 test matches.
