Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli will be eyeing glory down under in the tour of Australia. The tour begins with an ODI on November 27. Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh recently joined the list of cricketers to back team India in beating Australians in their own den. Here is a look at what he had to say about it.
Harbhajan Singh talks about the Indian team
India will be facing the Aussies in a four-match test series which starts from December 17 at Adelaide. Indian captain Virat Kohli will be flying back to India after the series opener which will also be a day-night game of pink ball. He will be back to be with his wife who is expecting their first child in January. The Indian team will undoubtedly miss their aggressive captain and a brilliant batsman in the test series. The 103 test veteran, Harbhajan Singh was asked about the Indian team’s chances of winning down under at the test series. Harbhajan Singh responded by saying, “It’s going to be a big challenge without Virat Kohli, but I still feel the Indian team has got that kind of a batting lineup and also the bowling, which has been a key factor for them… they can get those 20 wickets. They have got the team to beat Australia in Australia even with David Warner and Steve Smith.”

Harbhajan Singh also underlined the importance of Cheteshwar Pujara in the lineup and referred to him as the unsung hero. Talking about him and Virat Kohli, Harbhajan Singh said, “This team has got enough power to retain the trophy. They played brilliant cricket last time they were in Australia, Virat Kohli was absolutely brilliant and so was Pujara. We hardly hear his name because he is always under the shadow of the big players but Pujara’s contribution was big.”
