Apple Reportedly Working On Prototype Foldable iPhone Screens, Deets Inside
American multinational technology company, Apple has reportedly started working on a foldable phone. Scroll down to take a peek into Apple’s plan to launch a foldable phone.
Back in 1976, college dropouts brought to the new company a vision of changing the way people viewed computers. Yes! You are guessing right, we are talking about Apple. The company not only provided the best experience for its user but also stood strong on its motto, that is “Think Different”. Although many of us think that Apple is just a symbol of status, its users know that it is beyond this perception. With each new series, Apple has enhanced its overall performance and user experience. And, it seems like that after iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 series, they are all set for their next step as the company is gearing up to build a foldable phone.
The team at Apple have already started with their work on a foldable phone. Though a final device is likely still years away, Apple is working on the display for now and not the rest of the phone it would be attached to. Interestingly, the initial prototypes sound similar to the foldable screens we’ve seen used by Samsung and Motorola, among many others. And, if these floating reports are something to go by, then Apple is looking at making foldable screens with a “mostly invisible hinge” that could unfold to around the size of the iPhone 12 Pro Max. However, Apple hasn’t publicly indicated any interest in making a foldable phone. But, Apple in recent years filed for several patents for foldable smartphone designs. For the unversed, the company was granted a patent for foldable-smartphone hinges.
Coming to the development of this model, the company has been testing the screen prototypes, rather than a full iPhone model. A report has also shared that the company’s 2021 models may include fingerprint-scanning Touch ID in their displays. On the other hand, talking about the foldable phone model available in the market, Apple would join a growing list of competitors as Samsung announced its Galaxy Z Fold 2 in August 2020. Meanwhile, in a recent CES-video, LG showed off its rollable phone prototype, the LG Rollable. Also, Apple’s long-rumoured Tile competitor, AirTags, is also planned to launch this year.
