To avoid getting caught, he swaps them with his friend and auditor, Thyagarajan&rsquo;s slippers. When the police randomly search Thyagarajan&rsquo;s house, he suspects something unusual about the sandals but soon realizes they are missing. His son, Ilango, confesses that he gave them to their barefoot gardener. In a hurry, Thyagarajan buys a new pair of slippers and goes looking for the gardener.</p><p>They track him to a wine shop, where he admits to leaving the sandals at Mallika&rsquo;s house while drunk. Rushing there, they find a pile of slippers from her customers, but not the one they need. The gardener then remembers visiting counselor Ekambaram&rsquo;s house. Upon reaching, they see hundreds of slippers at the doorstep, three identical to the missing pair. As Ekambaram&rsquo;s family mourns his passing, Thyagarajan and Ilango desperately try to retrieve the slippers without getting noticed. Despite their efforts, the diamonds remain missing.</p><p>Meanwhile, Ratnam, unable to reach Thyagarajan, follows his trail. When he arrives at Ekambaram&rsquo;s house, Thyagarajan secretly informs the police. Just as Ratnam reaches, the power goes out, and when the lights return, the police arrest him. However, the diamonds are still lost. Will Thyagarajan recover them?
