Ranbir Kapoor has essayed the role of Bollywood's most controversial actor Sanjay Dutt in the movie which charts the life of the latter from his childhood to his days in jail. Actress Manisha Koirala plays the role of Sanjay Dutt's wife Manyaata in the movie while actress Anushka Sharma plays the role of a writer who pens Sanjay Dutt's biography.
