Nagelsmann has settled on a 4–2–3–1 with Joshua Kimmich at right-back and Aleksandar Pavlovic and Leon Goretzka as the double pivot. Key player: Leandro Bacuna — Captain, 34, Curaçao’s all-time appearance holder. The ex-Aston Villa midfielder is their most experienced voice on and off the pitch. When Germany have the ball — which will be for most of this match — his reading of the game and positional discipline hold the defensive shape. Prediction and verdict
Curaçao will defend with purpose, and Advocaat knows how to organise a side against heavier opposition. But Germany have the quality to break down any defensive structure eventually — Wirtz and Musiala will find pockets, Havertz will finish, and once the first goal goes in, the game opens. Germany should win this without any difficulty.
