Aamir Khan-An Influential Personality of Bollywood

Aamir khan is an Indian actor, singer, director, filmmaker, and television host. One of the most influential personalities in Bollywood, he is part of a trio of Khan's that have ruled Bollywood since the 90s. Mr. Khan is known for path-breaking work in Indian cinema and for pushing the boundaries in the Indian context.

Aamir is known for taking out-of-the-box subjects and making them accessible to a mass audience. Whether it is the sensitive topic of Dyslexia, religion, and education, he's managed to start a meaningful conversation in our society.

Most actors are famous for their personalities, and they overshadow the film itself. While being a megastar, Khan is known to fully envelope himself into the part and not let his ego get the better of him. His movies break the nationality, gender, and language norms, by speaking only from the language of cinema itself. He doesn't pander to his audience and has a deep respect for them which is why he's beloved by all.

He is Aamir Khan, the golden boy of quality cinema.

A Cinephile at Heart

Born in a film family environment, he has been learning about movies and how to make them from an early age. His father brought home film writers who would narrate their stories, and Khan would listen to them inquisitively. He then would ask Khan to give feedback and how these stories could have been better or more engaging. Aamir Khan recalled that he must have listened to more than thousands of stories before he even came of age.

One can somewhere connect the dots of why he is known for his brilliant script and film choices. His passion for cinema was inculcated without him even realizing it. It somehow explains the childlike wonder that he imbues in his movies. This is why a film like ‘Taare Zameen Par’ connects with us because he understands that innocence one has before it's lost.

How He Has Influenced Cinema Over the Years?

There are two types of people in this world: you can either be a trendsetter or people who follow the herd. He is of the first kind that is very rare to find nowadays.

In the 90s, he made movies like Andaz Apna Apna, Rangeela, and Sarfarosh that have stood the test of time. These movies are still ultra quotable, and their music still hums through the streets of India.

In 2001, however, he changed the face of Indian cinema twice-

● Dil Chahta Hai became the template for modern Bollywood movies catering to the urban class. The song Koi kahe Khehta Rahe suggests Hum Hai Naye Andaz Kyon Ho Purana perfectly describes this movie's impact. It marked the new millennium of Bollywood, where people were more relatable to the new generation and talked like one of us.
● Lagaan brought Indian cinema at its purest to the international stage and made India proud. Not since Salaam Bombay!, an Indian film, was critically appreciated and revitalized the period-era movies.

Since then, Khan has managed to put out blockbusters after blockbusters breaking the highest-grossing movies of all time record 4 times. His films are a huge sensation in China and opened up the Bollywood commercial market in a big way. His mission of being true to his characters has also inspired many other commercial actors to break through their comfort zones.

He has truly proven the famous dialogue from 3 Idiots says “Success Ke Peeche Mat Bhago, Excellence Ka Peecha Karo, Success Jhak Maarke Tumhare Peeche Ayegi”

The Humanitarian Side of Aamir Khan

Aamir's universal connection with people comes through his deeply human subjects by entertainingly telling them. You can be laughing in one scene and then also feel deeply emotional.

Even though his subjects can be strange, like an Alien coming to earth and talking Bhojpuri, the emotions are always grounded. Movies like Dangal have managed to strike a conversation about female empowerment and also helped connect families.

The dialogue “Maari chhoriya chhoro se kam hai ke” immediately became the most popular catchphrase all across India.

When Dangal was screened in China, it led to a massive wave of children reconnecting with their strict fathers. It helped them understand each other more profoundly and resolve their issues.

Khan doesn't make cinema for money or fame, but his core emotion is to change society.

He's a family man, a progressive man, a childlike individual, and an empathetic personality. Aamir Khan is most of all a beautiful soul that has touched millions of lives all around the world.
