Plot

The plot is based on the red sandalwood smuggling in the Seshachalam Hills of the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. Since the story of “Pushpa” is set in the backdrop of Chittoor, a village in Rayalaseema, the actors took out some time to learn and master the typical Rayalaseema slang so that they could develop the authentic accent and do proper justice to their characters.

Characters

Rashmika will play the female lead and will portray the role of a homemaker. The first part of Pushpa will focus on the exploits of Allu Arjun’s character (Pushpa Raj) related to illegal trade whereas the second part will include sequences that will justify his actions.

“Make In India” project

There is a 6-minute action sequence in the film, which has becoming popular even before the film’s release. The makers have also ensured that the the film involves no foreign and only Indian cast and crew, technicians and support staff, making “Pushpa” a “Make in India” Project.

Theatrical release

Keeping in mind the pandemic, the makers of “Pushpa” have already planned to announce a line up in advance so that the fans won’t have to think twice before making it to the film. Further, filmmakers have realized that there is always more money to be made from a theatrical release followed by a premiere on streaming apps, which is why they are keen to hold on especially to big films.

The film will be released on December 25 in five languages, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi.
